BANDARI vs TUSKER MATCH PREVIEW

K.P.L GAMEWEEK 1: MATCH NO. 2

BANDARI vs TUSKER looks more likely to be the match of gameweek 1 the clash is set to be played at MBARAKI SPORTS CLUB ,BANDARI will welcome TUSKER on Saturday 26/08/2023 at 3PM, the match will be FREE to the fans that are willing to attend the game. 

Last season TUSKER finished second(69), behind title record winners 20 times GOR MAHIA after a tight title race towards the end of the season ,the 12 times KPL Champions will be aiming to clinch there 13 title which they last won 20/21 season, on the other side the "Dockers " finished 6th(60) on the log and these season will be looking forward to challenge for their first title. 

Tusker FC new signings 

The two teams have beefed up their squads by signing up new players and also releasing a number of players.

The "breweries " have signed up midfielder Fabian Adikiny from KPL new babies MURANG'A SEALS,speedy winger Joseph Mwangi from NZOIA SUGAR, James Kibande from POLICE ,Ugandan International John Byumakama and latest acquisition being Erick Kapaito,the MVP 20/21 season who was also the golden boot winner same season ,the squad was also boosted as captain MOMANYI and deadly striker OJOK extended their stay with the club.The club released up to 7 players upon expiring of their contracts;Majak ,Mwinyi, Wanjala, Macharia,Kirenge,Monyi and H.Mieno were all released . 

Matano's led side have played a series of Friendlies ahead of the new season as part of the preparations including the trip to Tanzania where they played MBUNI F.C and COASTAL UNION.

Bandari new signing Beja Nyamawi 

BANDARI has signed some players to improve their squad more so the attack with inclusion  of two forwards,Alvin Ngoto and Beja Nyamawi from NSL sides MWATATE UNITED and SS ASSAD respectively,they also released a big number of players likes of Faraj Ominde ,Mosha and Omari who have joined the military team ULINZI STARS ,where they will work with their former coach Anthony Kimani .

Twahir Muhiddin side played a number of Friendlies both in the country and in Tanzania where they played Azam F.C and Coastal Union,and are well prepared to storm the league. 

The two teams have met 20 times with BANDARI winning 7 of the encounters while TUSKER became victorious in 10,3 of the games ended in a draw, in the last five matches they have met The "Dockers " have won 2 while the "brewers" have won 3 .

The last yime both teams met was 08/03/2023 where TUSKER emerged winners 1-0 in Ruaraka the only goal was scored by Mmata Leonard, last time in Mbaraki grounds the "breweries" lost 2-1to "Al Bandar" (Andrew Juma and Umar Kasumba scored for the home side while Macharia scored for the visitors).They meet again. 

Speaking during the pre match interview TUSKER Assistant captain Kibwage said they expect a tough match considering the "Al Bandar" will be in their backyard and hope for a good start unlike last season. 

These is how I expect the two sides to lineup :

Matano's side is hard to predict (hahahah)but here is my thought 

BRIAN BWIRE will start in goal,TEKA and Captain MOMANYI pairing at centre back(Matano seems to love the duo ), SAKARI right wing back,ONYANGO BONIFACE left back, New signing FABIAN ADIKINY will feel the big shoes left by Mieno deep in the midfield ,with the help of SHAPHAN OYUGI and KIBANDE,the attack from the wings by MWANGI and ODUOR MIKE then OJOK to lead the striking.

For the Dockers I expect ;

OCHUKA to start in between the posts , defense line led by FARAJ, JUMA, EDWARD and MEJA,at the center of the park SHARIF, FIDEL, ROBERT to control and attacking trio of ABDALLAH HASSAN, KINYANJUI and KASUMBA.
