WOMEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE

Kenya Women Premier League makes a return on 7/10/2023 for a new season 2023/2024.12 Teams will feature in the new season ;Vihiga Queens, Gaspo Women, Trans -Nzoia Falcons, Kenya Police Bullets(Former Thika Queens ),Nakuru City Queens, Wadadia, Madira Soccer Assassins, Zetech Sparks, Ulinzi Starlets, Bunyore Starlets, Bungoma Queens and Kibera Soccer Ladies. 

The teams based in Nairobi Region will have to make a number of trips out of the area to play there  matches more so  to the Western part which has a good number of teams.

Last season was one of the  tightly contested season which saw the winner being decided in the later stages of the league. Vihiga Queens emerged winners, Gaspo Women runners up and Ulinzi Starlets finished third, likes of Kisumu Allstarlets, Kayole Starlets and Kangemi Ladies were relegated from the league, which saw Kibera Soccer and Soccer Assassins being promoted after winning in their respective zones A and B, also promoted are League debutants Bungoma Queens (finished second zone B)who defeated Uweza Women  Soccer who finished second in Zone A on penalties after a 1-1 draw in playoffs showcased in Nakuru.

A number of teams have done some signings to prepare for the season with Police Bullets raiding a number of players from top clubs due to there financial muscle , Bungoma Queens, Bunyore Starlets,Zetech Sparks and Gaspo have also done some interesting transfers to strengthen their sides for the new season.The season is expected to be more competitive despite the League gue not having a title sponsor yet.

Who wins the title 23/ 24 Season?;
Will reigning champions Vihiga Queens keep the title ?Will Gaspo who came close last season finally do it?Is it Star studded  Bullets? Young Madira Soccer without forgetting Kibera Soccer ? Military side Ulinzi Starlets and University side Zetech Sparks are also in the mix of chasing the title.

Kenya Police Bullets vs Madira Soccer postponed due to Madira Assassins players being on International duty with  Rising Starlets Under 20 who are set to play Angola(U20) for  World Cup Qualifiers(U20).The squad is also being managed by Police Bullets head coach Odemba .

KWPL 23/24 Seasons looking forward to a good season and very competitive with less challenges.

REMARKABLY ODADA WAS DESTINED FOR STARS

RICHARD ODADA " Richie " was intended to be a top player for Kenya " Harambee Stars "since his youthful days back in Laiser Hill Academy and AFC Leopards. In February , 2018 he went for trials in Europe with Italian giants  JUVENTUS  but did not succeed also tried trials with other big clubs. April , 2018 he featured for Kenya R ising Stars Under 20 in Africa Championship Qualifiers where he scored the lone goal in a 1-1 draw encounter vs Rwanda the goal was assisted by Alpha Onyango. The  U20 squad was star studded with likes of Humphrey Katasi, Musa Masika (Ayub Timbe younger brother),Boniface Onyango, Yusuf Mainge , Sydney Lokale, Tom Teka and Keegan Ndemi among many other good players with Stanley Okumbi as the Coach.  Odada after the action vs Qatar in a friendly match  December,2018 he joined Red Star Belgrade (Crevna Zvezda ) in Serbia top flight on a 4 years contract ,he was just 18 then and used to turn up for the U19s , he was loaned to Grafica

INDOMITABLE LIONESSES, HARAMBEE STARLETS CLASH

Cameroon(W)vs Kenya(W) 2024 WAFCON qualifiers to be held in Morocco will be a mouth-watering clash, the two-legged match will take place in Doula , Cameroon and Nairobi, Kenya on 22nd and 26th September respectively , the winner overall will face the victor between Gabon and Botswana . Second round qualifiers will be played November 27 & December 5, 2023. Harambee Starlets   the Beldine Ademba coached side squad that travelled to the West Africa country, in addition to the team was late inclusion Mercy Njeri among other top players Kundu, Ingosi, Cynthia Shilwatso, Vivian Aquino, Akida makes a comeback to the squad and Mwanalima Adam adding depth on the attack that is star studded.  📷 courtesy.
